Pet boarding in Singapore

Ever since our regular pet boarding contact stopped her business last year, we have not been able to find a good replacement for our cats to stay in whenever we go on holiday.

During our last holiday trip, we had no choice but to place our cats at a friend's pet grooming center (all dogs only!) for almost 2 weeks. Poor kitties! They were so stressed up by the strange dogs' smell and their constant barking that they hardly ate and both were in constant alert mode. It was really heart-pain to see them shrunk under their pillows in the cage. Never will we put them through that again. But we still have to thanks the crew at the dog grooming center, they really did take effort to play and care for the two Ds.

Taking a look on the web you can find plently contacts for dog homestay or dog/pet sitting. However, there are not much services for cats homestay. Calling these strangers is also pretty daunting time for me especially in trying to establish if they are good enough for me to take time to visit the place before putting the deposit. A call to a supposed pet boarding company turned out to be a male escort service!!! He even had the cheek to sms me to tell me he is a male escort and if I needed company, I can look for him!! What a joke!!!

In the end, I came across two sites and having spoke to the two ladies, I think I will be willing to put our cats with either one of them. If you are also looking for pet sitter/pet boarding, you might want to try them. They are both certifiate groomers as well which is an added bonus I feel.

Dustin & Dustbin

This blog is delicated to the two little fur balls who came to our lives on 16th June 2007 - 2 weeks after Meng & I got married. They added little meows and paws prints in our marriage without us knowing how deeply they have now formed part of our lives.

Though it sounds weird, but we felt like two proud parents seeing they have grown up so well. Day by day, we learn to understand what their meows mean and how they feel by the way their ears flopped or picked up when they heard strange noises.

They made us pampered them like baby as they reacted to us just like a normal human baby. The two of them followed us every where we go in the house, refusing to eat until we are standing beside them, licking and sniffing your hand when they sensed you are upset. When you carried them, they like to be cuddled like baby and they like to place their heads on your shoulder wanting to look everywhere yet wanting to be carried.

Although they dropped fur everywhere and everyday, we still love them to bits. Caring and teaching them the proper behaviour until they ar tamed as a house cat. But still there are the wild side of them - and my favourite is when they help me to catch flying insert, lizard and cockroach. They do not go for the kill immediately but play with the insert until they are tired of it.

Yet they can be as innocent as you imagine them to be with their big glass-like eyes starting at you. It is amazing how far they have grown. We still miss the time when they were kitten not knowing they would grow up so fast...

Here some baby pictures of the two D & D (about 1-2mths old):
